For the seventh consecutive year, the Walton Central School District partnered with SUNY Oneonta’s Giving Tree program to provide holiday gifts to five of our families in the district. Additionally, the high school held a food drive in which clubs, classes, and staff contributed 244 food items. Drama Club/GSA/Speech and Debate collected the most items and will receive a pizza party sponsored by student council. The middle school held a household/hygiene drive and the seventh-grade team collected the most items and received a donut party sponsored by the middle school SEL committee. We are very grateful to everybody for their generous donations to make the holidays a little more special for our WCS families! #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

For the 22nd consecutive year, the Walton Central School District teamed with Delaware Opportunities for a gift drive to help area children. This year, the drive covered 40 children throughout Delaware County. The National Honor Society organized and sponsored the drive this year, and gifts were donated by students and numerous faculty and staff members from the elementary, middle, and high schools. A list of families is given to the school ahead of time, though identities are not known. Gifts remain in the county, however. The only information given to the school is age, gender, and sizes for each child, as well as a list of wanted items or interests. The ages of children this year ranged from nine months to 17 years. #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

The football team honored music teacher/band director Ray Bartlett before Saturday’s game at Jim Hoover Field for his 40-plus years of dedication to WCS. Bartlett has led the pep band for countless football games. Can you imagine how many times he’s led the pep band to play “Orange Crush” after every home score? #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

The Walton CSD Class of 2025 is accepted! SUNY Broome visited Walton earlier this week to walk seniors through the College Express process. Students filled out applications for Broome, and got information about the program. This is the first of several trips Broome will make to Walton to help students with the college or career process. The College Express program guarantees Walton seniors to be accepted to Broome, should they choose to attend college there. The college will help students in all aspects, whether they choose to attend Broome, another college, or enter the workforce. This was a great start to this partnership! #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride #SUNYBroome
