Students who took part in the summer Crush Connects program had the opportunity to spend a day re-connecting at the Uplands Center in Walton. The day focused on revisiting the theme of the summer – “Becoming your best self.” Students went on a hike, worked on art projects, spent time in the garden, and worked on reflecting on their future goals. Eighth graders had their adventure recently, going to the Uplands Center. While there, students participated in an art project where they made coasters, cooking and nutrition activity where they made a fresh pasta salad and strawberry oatmeal smoothies. The Uplands staff also led students in a nature scavenger hunt, a hike, and other nature inspired activities! #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

Help Walter the Warrior Rock Snake grow! Walton CSD eighth-grade art students in Lara Fassler’s class, as well as those in Crush Connects, painted rocks this past fall during a trip to the Uplands Center to form a rock snake. Fassler worked with Chamber of Commerce member Trisha O’Brien to get permission from the Village of Walton for Walter to live and grow at Austin Lincoln Park. Here’s where you can come in! Paint a rock and add it to Walter! The goal is for Walter to grow and make his way all the way around the path this summer! #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride
