Help Walter the Warrior Rock Snake grow!
Walton CSD eighth-grade art students in Lara Fassler’s class, as well as those in Crush Connects, painted rocks this past fall during a trip to the Uplands Center to form a rock snake.
Fassler worked with Chamber of Commerce member Trisha O’Brien to get permission from the Village of Walton for Walter to live and grow at Austin Lincoln Park.
Here’s where you can come in! Paint a rock and add it to Walter! The goal is for Walter to grow and make his way all the way around the path this summer!

Third-grade class host wax museum
Jodie Day’s third-grade class once again held a wax museum as the final part of a research project.
During the project, students work on an autobiography, and share important items with the class. Items can be anything, such as photos, jewelry, sports cards, or other things. The project is done at the end of the year, as it allows students to learn things about classmates.
After that project, students then research another person, write a biography, and create a fact poster to display information about that person. The final step is to dress the part, have props, and pretend to be wax forms of the person.
Family, friends, and other classes are invited to then walk through the museum as students do their best to stay still throughout.

The annual music awards concert at Walton Central School is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 11 in the courtyard at O’Neill High School. The concert is a BBQ-style picnic sponsored by the Friends of Music.
Throughout the evening, a variety of string, bass, woodwind, and choral ensembles and soloists will perform.
The evening is capped off by short performances by the large high school ensembles, including the orchestra, chorus, and band.
Letter and pin awards, as well as NYSSMA medals, will be presented during the concert. The special senior recognition awards and underclassmen awards given by the Friends of Music will also be included.
Members of the community are invited. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets for seating. In case of inclement weather, everything will be moved inside to the cafeteria and auditorium.
