For the 21st consecutive year, the WaltonCentral School District teamed with Delaware Opportunities for a gift drive to help area children.
This year, the drive covered 42 children throughout Delaware County. The National Honor Society organized and sponsored the drive this year, and gifts were donated by students and numerous faculty and staff members from the elementary, middle, and high schools.
A list of families is given to the school ahead of time, though identities are not known. Gifts remain in the county, however. The only information given to the school is age, gender, and sizes for each child, as well as a list of wanted items or interests.

Earlier this fall, the small animal care class learned about the history of chickens.
They also learned about eggs and their various components throughout this time. They gained knowledge about the process of eggs hatching, and an understanding of critical elements including temperature, humidity, and ventilation that affect eggs and the hatching process.
Finally, students had the opportunity to dissect an egg and identify its different parts.

The Walton CSD music department recently took the high school ensembles to Broadway. While there, they saw the Rockefeller Center tree, had lunch, and saw the musical Gutenberg at the James Earl Jones Theatre.
After the show, the group had the chance to meet and ask questions of Russell Daniels, who is Josh Gad's understudy. The meeting was set up by Middle School Principal Adam Hoover, who is friends with Daniels.
