Students in the small animal care class were tasked with creating the interior and exterior of a chicken coop. They also needed to build their chickens a back yard.
Six essential features needed to be designed and labeled. Among the factors students had to consider how to keep predators out of the coop, and why you can’t have to many chickens living in the coop.
They received glue, chicken wire, and popsicle sticks to create their coops.

Students in Brynne Hoover-Daye’s Disney Story Exploration class have been busy this semester. The elective is in its second year and is a class students can sign up if they have room in their schedules.
This semester, 15 students from seventh and eighth grades took part, with some being in their second year of taking the class.
The students this year began by working with the story/movie Star Wars: A New Hope. They ended the unit by writing scripts for talk shows in which they played the characters and were interviewed about their lives.
They also challenged Middle School Principal Adam Hoover to a Star Wars trivia battle. Mr. Hoover won.
Following this section, they moved on to the movie Encanto. One of the projects completed with this movie was creating a pair of Crocs that fit the personality of one of the characters.
The last major project for the semester was creating a diorama from a scene from either of the movies.
