The middle school student council recently held its annual Heart of the Catskills Humane Society supply drive. Student council members, middle school students, faculty, and staff were asked to bring in donations to be dropped off at the shelter in Delhi.

Just before Thanksgiving, middle school advisor classes participated in a “hide a turkey” activity. Classes worked together to choose how to best disguise their turkey. The students then voted on their favorite from each grade level.

A Minion (Mrs. Tucek’s advisor)

Because of inclement weather, the Walton Central School District is closed for Friday, November 22. There is no school.
REMINDER: Monday and Tuesday (November 25-26) are half-days for students as parent-teacher conferences are scheduled in the afternoon.
Dismissal times are as follows:
11 a.m. Townsend Elementary
11:15 a.m.: MS/HS
Please note: Bag lunches are available for all students on those two days.
Any other questions can be directed to your child(ren)’s building principal.

The middle school held a pumpkin decorating contest last week and the winners were as follows: Rylee Mead (seventh grade), Logan Gregory Jr. (eighth grade), and Michael Sanford (sixth grade).
Winners were determined by voting by middle school students from each grade.

Students who took part in the summer Crush Connects program had the opportunity to spend a day re-connecting at the Uplands Center in Walton. The day focused on revisiting the theme of the summer – “Becoming your best self.”
Students went on a hike, worked on art projects, spent time in the garden, and worked on reflecting on their future goals.

Eighth graders had their adventure recently, going to the Uplands Center.
While there, students participated in an art project where they made coasters, cooking and nutrition activity where they made a fresh pasta salad and strawberry oatmeal smoothies. The Uplands staff also led students in a nature scavenger hunt, a hike, and other nature inspired activities!
