REMINDER: The Delaware Valley Hospital Medical Neighborhood construction project is ongoing. This work continues to bring significant increases in vehicle movement, heavy equipment, and other potentially hazardous activity throughout the hospital parking areas.

Historically, many students have used the hospital lot as a shortcut when walking to and from the school. However, because of construction activity, all through traffic and pedestrian access through the parking lots is no longer permitted to ensure the safety of students, staff, patients, and construction crews.

Though information has been shared previously, some students have still been seen walking through and accessing the lots.

As a strong community partner with DVH, and in an effort to support their request and ensure our Walton students are walking safely to and from school, please be sure to refrain from using their parking lots.

Walton CSD to host music awards, Spring String Fling

The Walton Central School District music department will host two annual events next week.

The first is the music awards concert, which is set for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 9. The concert will be held in the high school courtyard. This event is also a barbecue-style picnic, sponsored by the Friends of Music. Cost for the meal is by donation.

Throughout the evening, a variety of duets and soloists will perform. The evening will be capped by short performances by the large high school ensembles, including the orchestra, chorus, and band.

Letter and pin awards, as well as NYSSMA medals, will be present during the event. Special senior recognition awards, and underclassman awards, given by the Friends of Music, will also be included.

Members of the community are invited. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating.

In the case of inclement weather, it will be held in the gymnasium and auditorium.

At 6 p.m. Thursday, June 10, the Spring String Fling will be held in the high school auditorium. The concert will showcase orchestra students from third grade up through high school. Each orchestra will perform individually. A few NYSSMA solos and duets will also perform. The concert culminates with a mass orchestra, which includes the advanced elementary orchestra, middle school orchestra, and high school orchestra.

The concert is free and open to the public.

Congratulations to the March 2026 Students of the Month for the middle school!

The trait of the month was: Choices. Decisions between right and wrong are usually the most difficult for children to choose. We encourage all students to ask themselves, is this a good choice or a bad choice, and let that determine their overall decision.

Stop the presses! The Disney film turned Tony-winning Broadway hit inspires everyone to fight for what’s right and seize the day!

The Walton Central School District music department is carrying the banner on stage with Disney’s Newsies! Show times are 7 p.m. Friday, March 27, and Saturday, March 28. A senior show – which is free for senior citizens, is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 26.

All shows are at the Walton CSD auditorium. Tickets for the shows on Friday and Saturday are $8 for adults and $6 for students. If you purchase tickets in advance (available at Walton Music House and the Walton CSD high school office), prices are $7 for adults and $5 for students.

The production features senior Eli Williams in the role of Jack, senior Maddox Little as Davey, and senior Kahrin Vesterfelt as Katherine Plumber.

Inspired by a true story, Newsies tells the tale of Jack Kelly, the charismatic leader of a group of teenage newsies, who take a David vs. Goliath stand against the newspaper giants of the era. They fight to shine a light on the unfair working conditions for thousands of children across New York City. Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!

Based on the 1992 motion picture, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman, and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein (Kinky Boots). Featuring the now classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” Newsies is packed with non-stop thrills, songs, dances and a timeless message, perfect for the whole family and every audience.

Thank you for joining us to watch our Walton CSD cast and crew perform a musical to remember!

NOTICE: Due to an unexpected electrical issue, the power went off three times at our MS/HS campus this morning. The disruption was minimal and we have resolved the issue for now and will be looking into it more. Please note, our NYSED Regents exams will continue as scheduled, unless you receive a school messenger stating that has changed.
