New York Thursdays are coming! New York Thursday meals are cooked from scratch within the district cafeteria and will be held 14 times throughout the school year. The meals use seasonal foods that are grown, harvested, or produced in New York. The dates for the 2023-24 school year are as follows: September 21 October 5 October 19 November 9 December 14 January 11 January 25 February 8 February 15 March 7 March 21 April 18 May 9 May 23 Look for the menus for each one as they get closer!

Live streaming for athletics If you are looking for live streaming of athletic events, Walton CSD is now using Hudl. The games that are streamed will no longer be on our YouTube page. Currently, there is a camera for games on Jim Hoover Field, and for all indoor athletics. Boys and girls soccer games that are held at Downsville will be streamed once a second camera arrives. You can access the streams at: https://fan.hudl.com/United-States/NY/Walton/organization/5037/Walton-High-School. There is also an app available called "Hudl Fan," which can be found in your favorite app store. #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD

At the end of June, the fourth-quarter multimedia arts class raced their wind-powered cars! All of the cars were made by students on the Makerspace’s 3D printer, Glowforge, and Cricut machines. Austin Scutt came in first place and set a new sixth-grade record when his car traveled 33 feet, 9 inches! Great work! #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

The AVP club recently held its final workshop of the year, which served as training for facilitators. The club welcomed several new facilitators to the group. Students practiced running mini-sessions with one another, and worked on developing leadership skills over two days. #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

REMINDER: The annual budget vote and Board of Education election for the Walton Central School District will take place from 12-9 p.m. Tuesday, May 16 at the district bus garage. #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

The Walton CSD middle and high school concerts will be held in the coming weeks. Both will be held in the high school auditorium. The high school concert is scheduled for 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 16. The concert will feature the symphonic orchestra and the high school chorus, under the direction of Rebekah Doig, as well as the high school band, directed by Raymond Bartlett. Also performing is the brass ensemble. The middle school concert is slated for 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 23. The string orchestra, and the seventh- and eighth-grade chorus, directed by Doig, will perform. Also performing is the sixth-grade chorus, and the seventh- and eighth-grade band, conducted by Bartlett. Performances are free and open to the public. #WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

Sixth-graders in the third-quarter multimedia arts class raced their wind-powered cars, which were made using the Maker Space’s 3D printer, Glowforge, and Cricut machines. Noah Hood came in first place, with his car traveling 26 feet, 4 inches. AVP recently held its advanced workshop for students in grades 8-12. The group participated in activities that encouraged teamwork, cooperation, and building conflict resolution skills.
