The Walton CSD middle school recently held its annual "Orange Out Day," where students wore their t-shirt given out by the student council. The idea is to fill the halls with a sea of orange!

Gransbury, who has twice broken the single-game scoring record this season and has been on varsity since ninth grade, is the fifth female Walton player to reach the milestone, and the eighth overall. Her 1,000th point came on a foul shot.
The other females to reach the milestone are: Janet Merrill, Sybil Stanton, Olivia Harby, and McKenzie Clough. The three male players to reach the milestone are Russell Mann, Rick Lambrecht, and Dylan Jacob.

Fifth-grade students recently created decorations for the William B. Ogden Free Library’s tree. The project was a collaborative one between teachers Lori Cucciarre, Judy Ogden, and the library.
Students made the ornaments in art class, and then walked them to the library so they would be on the tree before Santa recently arrived at the library.
Great work by the teachers and students!

During announcements Friday morning, members of Walton CSD’s GSA club spoke about Human Rights Day, which is Saturday, December 10.
Human Rights Day is observed each December 10, which is the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The document proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. The document, which is available in more than 500 languages, is the most translated document in the world, according to the UN.
Pictured are (from left): GSA adviser Kate Hoffmeister, Aurora Siniscalchi, Phade Lindsay, Aly Siar, and adviser Ellen Nary.

As fall turns into winter and the new sports season gets underway, we would like to remind all that the Walton CSD is a supporter of good sportsmanship. We welcome our opponents, officials, and fans.
Officials are an important part of our contests, and many do it because of their love of the game. We appreciate all they do.

Members of the middle school SEL committee prepared a special breakfast for six orange-card students and their guests. Orange cards are given to students in recognition for various achievements, such as academics, kindness, being helpful, and other positive things teachers and staff see throughout the year.
At the end of each quarter, orange cards earned by students are entered into a raffle for various rewards.
