WINTER SPORTS NOTICE:

If your child is interested in participating in a winter sport, please make sure all required forms are completed on Final Forms. You can access the forms at: https://waltoncentral-ny.finalforms.com/.

Additionally, your child must have an up-to-date physical on file in the nurse’s office in order to participate.

Important dates:
• Monday, October 27: Modified winter season No. 1 starts (girls and boys basketball)
• Monday, November 17: JV/varsity winter season practices begin

REMINDER! Photo retake day for the middle and high schools is scheduled for Wednesday, October 22!

Townsend Elementary retake day is scheduled for November 6.

NOTICE: The Guthrie dental van is scheduled to visit Townsend Elementary later this month, with dates at the MS/HS still being discussed.

Townsend Elementary, which will host the van from October 27-30, has sent packets home with students. If parents/guardians are interested in utilizing the dental van, please fill out the paperwork and send it back to the school.

For the middle and high schools, if you would like your child to be seen, packets can be picked up at the health office. Please contact the office if you need more information.

REMINDERS!

- No school on Friday, October 10 and Monday, October 13!

- The middle and high school open house is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15!

The summer Crush Connects group recently had the chance to re-connect at the Uplands Center. The group spent the afternoon revisiting the theme of authenticity, spent time in the garden making scarecrows, going on a nature walk, and then creating fall pieces of art.

On Friday, the middle school student council held its annual "Welcome Back" assembly. Grade levels competed in a game of "Name that Baby," where they had to identify baby pictures of teachers. Seventh grade earned the victory!

REMINDER: Come join us for a community meet-and-greet ice cream social with new Walton CSD Superintendent Teresa Glavin! The event will be held from 6-7 p.m. August 18 in the high school courtyard!

There will be mandatory parent/student-athlete information sessions for Walton/Downsville fall athletics on Wednesday, August 6.

The sessions will be held at the high school in Walton.

- 5:45-6:15 p.m.: Boys and girls soccer
- 6:15-6:45 p.m.: JV/varsity volleyball and football

Please note: Field hockey is playing in a summer league that night; coaches will reach out to parents and players with information.

REMINDER: Physicals and permission forms must be completed student-athletes are allowed to practice. Forms can be filled out starting July 30 for JV and varsity, and August 6 for modified sports.

Physical forms can be sent to the health office at the specific school at any time.

The Crush Connects program is well underway this summer! This year’s theme is “authenticity.” Students are exploring how to be their true selves, all while having fun doing it.

The program’s purpose is to foster connections between students as they build leadership, communication, and healthy coping skills!
