Students in eighth-grade ELA recently held a poetry tasting, led by student teacher Katie Cuomo. Students had the opportunity to explore different poetry styles and authors. They had to pick three different poems/authors that they felt drawn to, or resonated with. The room also was set up with flower vases and snacks to give it a café feel. The students were engaged in the activity, which was put together to expose the students to poetry. Well done!

#WeAreWalton #WaltonCSD #WaltonPride

A message from the Walton Central School District about the anticipated weather in the coming days:
1) Please be sure that students are dressed properly in multiple layers.
2) If your student is a walker, or is dropped off at one of the schools, please time your student’s arrival time: 7:30 a.m. for breakfast at the middle school/high school only, and 7:45 a.m. for all other arrivals.
3) For those of you with children who ride the bus, we ask that you keep your child inside either a warm vehicle or home until the bus has stopped so that we can ensure students are not waiting outside for a long period of time.
As always, we thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students healthy and safe.

For the seventh consecutive year, the Walton Central School District partnered with SUNY Oneonta’s Giving Tree program to provide holiday gifts to five of our families in the district.
Additionally, the high school held a food drive in which clubs, classes, and staff contributed 244 food items. Drama Club/GSA/Speech and Debate collected the most items and will receive a pizza party sponsored by student council.
The middle school held a household/hygiene drive and the seventh-grade team collected the most items and received a donut party sponsored by the middle school SEL committee.
We are very grateful to everybody for their generous donations to make the holidays a little more special for our WCS families!

In November, the AVP held its basic workshop for students in grades 8-12. Students formed positive connections by participating in experiential activities that focused on building conflict resolution, teambuilding, leadership, and communication skills.
