The Walton Central School District is hosting a workforce development meeting for the Walton area at 4 p.m. Wednesday, November 16.

All Walton-area businesses are invited to attend this meeting.

Scarcity in the Walton area for a skilled workforce is a major concern for the entire community. This event provides an opportunity for dialogue and to receive information on Walton CSD’s career development program, which includes services contracted through DCMO BOCES’ CTE programs. It also includes opportunities for businesses to be directly involved in student educational programming through activities such as workplace tours, career fairs, panel discussions, guest speakers, shadowing, and internships.

The event, which will be in the high school auditorium, starts at 4 p.m. with refreshments and includes representatives from Walton CSD, DCMO BOCES, the Delaware County IDA, as well as Walton Town Supervisor Joe Cetta, and Walton Village Mayor Ed Snow.

Topics during the meeting will include the IDA and BOCES speaking about funding opportunities that are available to support businesses to develop skilled labor.

It is requested that those wanting to attend please RSVP at https://forms.gle/vh3b7b5doR6gv3FC7, or by calling Corey Phraner at 607-865-4116, ext. 6130.
