At approximately 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, Townsend Elementary was placed in a lockout/hold in place security position as requested by law enforcement. The action was taken out of precaution due to law enforcement activity in the immediate area.
The lockout/hold in place was lifted by law enforcement at 2:34 p.m., allowing for a normal dismissal.
“The quick response to ensure the safety of our students and staff by law enforcement is appreciated,” Walton CSD Superintendent Mike MacDonald said.
