In June, the Walton Central School District recognized a long-time teacher in the Walton Central School District.
Douglas Bartlett Appreciation Day was held in honor of the teacher who led students from 1962-1990, teaching classes such as metal shop and introduction to electricity.
Bartlett and his wife Barbara were at the school and recognized, as well as honored with having a new building named in his honor. The building – a shed that will be used with the agricultural program at Walton and built by one of Sal Salvia’s classes – was unveiled during the day as well.
Bartlett was also honored by a former student, who created a graduation scholarship this year in his name.
