Class learns about trimming hooves

The animal science class at Walton CSD recently had the chance to get a hands-on lesson about trimming the hooves of the district’s miniature horse (Uno).

Uno needed a trim after being out in a wet pasture before coming to WCS. Local resident Joe Hafele came to the class to do the trimming, as well as speak to the class about the anatomy of the feet and legs on a horse, and the importance of taking care of them.

The students had the chance to get hands-on and do the trimming themselves.
