Construction class nears finish of shed

Students in Sal Salvia’s construction class have been working hard to finish up a drive-through shed being built for Dave Day.

The shed is 8 feet by 16 feet. The shed, which has architectural shingles with a gambrel roof style, has doors on both ends and board and batten siding. Students provide the labor, with the costs of the project paid for by Day. Rough-cut lumber was cut by Day’s lumber sawmill.

Students built a model of the shed, and then built the real shed. Salvia said some students noted the model was just as hard to build as the real shed.
