From Walton CSD Superintendent Teresa Glavin:

Dear students, parents, guardians, and community members,

As you may know, the DVH Medical Neighborhood construction project is now underway. This work brings significant increases in vehicle movement, heavy equipment, and other potentially hazardous activity throughout the hospital parking areas.

Historically, many students have used the hospital lot as a shortcut when walking to and from the school. Unfortunately, due to current and upcoming construction activity, all through‑traffic and pedestrian access through the parking lots is no longer permitted to ensure the safety of students, staff, patients, and construction crews.

Although this information has been shared in newspapers, on the radio, and on their social media, they are still seeing a large number of students walking through the parking lot.

As a strong community partner with DVH, and in an effort to support their request and ensure our Walton students are walking safely to and from school, please be sure to refrain from using their parking lots.

Thank you so much!
