The Delaware County Sheriff's Office contacted the Walton Central School District on Wednesday evening in regard to one of our high school students making a threat to do harm to the high school. This was done via an online chat.
The Sheriff's Office investigated the situation and made a determination to arrest the student and charged the student with making a terroristic threat.
These situations are very unfortunate, but are taken seriously as the No. 1 priority is the safety of our students and staff. Law enforcement will be present at the high school Thursday to ease concerns.
