The Walton Central School District has named three ambassadors for this year’s Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Conference.

Sophomores Aurora Siniscalchi, Amelia Somers, and Reese Underwood have been named the ambassadors for the conference, which will be held June 2-4 at the University at Albany.

The Walton Lions Club split the cost of the conference with Walton CSD, which allowed all three sophomores to attend.

HOBY is a leadership opportunity founded by former actor O’Brian in 1958. The organization’s mission is to inspire youth from around the world to pursue lives of leadership and service. Since its beginning, more than 445,000 students have participated in leadership seminars. HOBY has programs in all 50 states, as well as 20 countries.

Events at the conference included participation in informative workshops and activities with other high school ambassadors from across the state, as well as community service projects.
