The annual tradition of Jodie Day’s third-grade class holding a wax museum continued this year as the final part of a research project.
During the project, students work on an autobiography, and share important items with the class. Items can be anything, such as photos, jewelry, sports cards, or other things. The project is done at the end of the year, as it allows students to learn things about classmates.
After that project, students then research another person, write a biography, and create a fact poster to display information about that person. The final step is to dress the part, have props, and pretend to be wax forms of the person.
Family, friends, and other classes are invited to then walk through the museum as students do their best to stay still throughout.
Amazing job as always! You can see more photos on our Facebook page!

Corey Rich, otherwise known as Corey the Dribbler made a stop at Walton CSD’s Townsend Elementary last week! A former Harlem Globetrotter and an 8-time Guinness World Record holder, he is a youth motivational speaker and shares his story and character education message.
His interactive basketball show, which wowed the students with his ability to perform many tricks, was mixed in with his messages about respect, education, and having the right attitude. He told the story about his dream to be a member of the Globetrotters and how he reached his goal.
The kids had a lot of fun, laughed a lot, and learned his message. Such a wonderful assembly!
