students with decorated pumpkins

In October, the Townsend Elementary Ag Club held its first meeting of the year and had several activities to fill the afternoon.

Local author Margaret Dibenedetto read her book, Ebony Bear, and then talked about bears and showed the group a bear skull. Art teacher Lori Cucciarre helped the students paint pumpkins, which were then placed outside as decorations. Also, Rob and Lisa Rhinehart brought their apple press, showing the students how to use it and make apple cider.

It was a great first meeting and the students enjoyed it.
