Class that won the contest.

Jodie Day’s third-grade class was selected as a winner for an outstanding poetry entry for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s 36th annual Water Resources Art and Poetry Contest. 

The letter received by Day noted the “The entry was beautifully executed and shows a genuine understanding of, and appreciation for, New York’s water resources.”

The contest received more than 1,500 pieces from watershed and New York City students. 

The class will be honored as part of a virtual ceremony on Friday, April 29.
