Walton CSD to launch automated attendance notifications via ParentSquare
The Walton Central School District is introducing a new, streamlined way of keeping parents and guardians informed about their children’s attendance.
Beginning Monday, November 2, Walton CSD will activate automated school attendance notifications through ParentSquare. This transition replaces manual phone calls, making it faster and easier for families to stay updated and communicate directly with our schools.
Daily attendance alerts
If your student is marked absent, you will receive a prompt automated notification via the ParentSquare app, text message, and email. If a text message fails to deliver, the system will automatically attempt a voice call to ensure you receive the notification.
Easily send attendance notes
One of the greatest benefits of this feature is convenience: parents and guardians can now submit attendance notes directly back to the school through the ParentSquare app. This significantly reduces the need for phone calls or handwritten notes. While physical notes and office phone calls are still accepted, using ParentSquare provides a central, convenient place for all attendance updates.
Per district policy and New York State requirements, all absence reasons must still be reported within two days and remain subject to district attendance guidelines.

We look forward to utilizing this tool to strengthen home-to-school communication!
