AP biology project

Recently, AP Biology students wrapped up their Biotechnology unit by completing three labs.

Students performed a DNA fingerprint of a viral DNA; they transformed bacteria by inserting a gene (from jellyfish) to make them floresce; and, in conjunction with Dr. Carrie Adler from Cornell University, successfully turned off the genes controlling regeneration in Planaria flatworms resulting in several two-headed worms.

Students did a fantastic job with some very technical labs!
