Voters approve 2018-19 Walton CSD budget
Voters went to the polls on Tuesday, May 15 and approved the Walton Central School District’s proposed 2018-19 budget of $20,864,607. 
The budget increases spending 1.65 percent or $338,810 over the current year and carries a 1.56 percent tax levy increase. The final vote was: 
  • Yes: 323
  • No: 120
Voters approved a proposition to lease three new school buses for five years. The final count was:
  • Yes: 303
  • No: 140
Voters also elected Ronda L. Williams and Arnold A. Drumm to Board of Education seats. The final tally for the BOE election was as follows:
  • Ronda L. Williams: 320
  • Joyce K. Bishop: 200
  • Arnold A. Drumm: 300
“I want to thank the Walton Central School District community for the support of the school and our kids," Walton Superintendent Roger Clough said. "This positive result will allow us to keep moving forward to give our students the best possible opportunities. Congratulations as well to Ronda Williams and Arnold Drumm for winning the Board of Education election.”

Also decided was the William B. Ogden Free Library budget. That was passed by a final tally of 295-146. The library budget is voted on via the school budget because of state law, however, it is not part of the district budget.
