Applications for absentee ballots may be applied for at the district office. Applications must be received by the district clerk at least seven (7) days before the vote if the ballot is to be mailed to the absentee voter, or the day before the vote if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the absentee voter. Absentee ballots must be received in the office of the clerk of the district not later than 5:00 p.m. on the date of the vote.
Running for School Board: Petitions nominating candidates for the office of member of the Board of Education must be filed with the clerk of the district between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and not later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2021.
The following vacancies are to be filled:
A three-year term ending June 30, 2024 presently held by Arnold A. Drumm
A three-year term ending June 30, 2024 presently held by Ronda L. Williams
A three-year term ending June 30, 2022 vacated by Marilynn C. Lewis and presently held by Chad E. Trimbell
Each petition must be addressed to the Clerk of the District and signed by at least 25 qualified voters of the District, shall state the residence of each signer, and the name and address of the candidate. Vacancies upon the Board shall not be considered separate specific offices. The individuals receiving the highest number of votes shall be elected to the vacancies.
Eligibility Requirements: Generally, school board candidates must be a U.S. citizen, at least 18 years old, qualified voters in the school district, and able to read and write. They must be residents of their districts continuously for one year before the election. They cannot be employed by the board on which they will serve or live in the same household with a family member who is also a member of the same school board. They may not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office.
Qualified voters of the school district are: (1) a citizen of the United States of America, (2) eighteen years of age or older, and (3) resident within the school district for a period of thirty (30) days next preceding the annual meeting. Please bring proof of residency with you, such as a driver's license or a utility bill.
