Mr. Clerkin and Mrs. Schmidt

Meet the Teachers

My name is Mr. Clerkin, and I will be your child's fourth grade teacher this year.  I graduated from SUNY Cortland, and grew up in the lower Hudson Valley region.  I will be going into the sixth year of my teaching career, the fifth being here at Townsend Elementary.  In my free time, I enjoy reading, fishing and hiking outside, and rooting for my Mets and Jets. As we embark on our learning adventure this year, I look forward to becoming a positive influence in your child's life.

My name is Mrs. Schmidt and I will be working in collaboration with Mr. Clerkin as a consultant/resource room teacher.  This is my fifth year of teaching. I graduated from Binghamton University with my master’s degree in Early-Childhood Education and Special Education in 2013.  I have two children within the Walton school district Skylar, 16 and Bo, 5.  I grew up in Franklin and live locally with my husband and two children.  Some of my favorite things to do is go on “adventures” outside, traveling, painting, baking and spending time with my family.  I look forward to a successful year and working with your child.  It is encouraged that you contact me at any time with questions, concerns, and/or just to check in.
