Fall Sports Start Date Delayed for all NYS schools

 NYSPHSAA announced today that the start of the Fall 2020 athletic season will be delayed until Monday, September 21.  Please read the article for more information.

WCS update: March 14, 2020

The Walton Central School District will hold a Superintendent’s Conference Day on Monday, March 16. There is no school for students. 
 
Staff is to report and will meet in the high school auditorium at 8 a.m. to discuss the plans and situation surrounding the COVID-19 coronavirus. 
 
WCS has been in constant contact with state and local health officials, as well as surrounding districts and are discussing all options. 
The district is planning for the likelihood of a long-term closing.

Two set to represent Walton at wrestling states

Section Four champions Cody Merwin and Scott Barnhart will represent the Walton/Delaware Academy team at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association wrestling state championships this weekend at the Times Union Center in Albany.

Both wrestlers are Walton juniors. Merwin is a three-time state qualifier and Barnhart will compete at states for the first time.

Walton CSD social studies teacher Marcia Albrecht has been selected to receive the Volunteer Award by the Upstate New York Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame for 2020. More +
2019 All-state football team selections for Walton

Five named to Class D all-state football team

Five Walton Central School District football players were named to the New York State Sportswriters Association Class D all-state team this week.

Nick Lamoreaux earned first-team honors. Dylan Jacob, Morgan Condon and Jordan Blincoe were named to the second team, and Cody Ray earned honorable mention.
