Advanced Placement Courses (AP)

The Advanced Placement (AP) Program is a nationwide program of college level courses and exams for secondary school students.  AP courses are taught on the college level.  Colleges and universities can receive the AP examination grades and use them as a basis for granting credit and/or placement to entering students whose scores meet their requirements.  AP exam scores are highly recognized and honored by most colleges and universities in the United States.  At Walton High School, we currently offer AP Biology, AP U.S. History, and A.P. Literature and Composition.

Dual Credit Courses

Students in grades 9-12 are required by New York State Education law to pass a required number of Regents exams in English, History, Mathematics, and Science in order to graduate from high school.  A regents diploma requires a student to pass 5 regents exams and an advanced regents diploma requires a student to pass 8 regents exams.
