WCS announces HOBY ambassadors
Walton's HOBY ambassadors for 2018
Walton's HOBY ambassadors for 2018 are Mara Little and Isaac Vesterfelt.
The Walton Central School District has selected two sophomores to represent the school a this year’s Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) Leadership Conference.

Mara Little and Isaac Vesterfelt will attend the conference, which is held at SUNY Oneonta in June. The two are able to attend the conference thanks to contributions from the guidance department and the Walton Lion’s Club.

The two were selected after submitting about “What is leadership,” as well as an interview process of qualified sophomores.

HOBY is a leadership opportunity founded by former actor O’Brian in 1958. The organization’s mission is to inspire youth from around the world to pursue lives of leadership and service. Since its beginning, more than 445,000 students have participated in leadership seminars. HOBY has programs in all 50 states, as well as 20 countries.

Events at the conference include participation in informative workshops and activities with other high school ambassadors from across the state, as well as community service projects.

Little is the daughter of Ty and Molly Little, and Vesterfelt is the son of Rachel and Colin Christian Vesterfelt.
