Kindness adventure assembly held at Townsend
At the NED assembly
The NED show brought a kindness adventure assembly to Townsend Elementary in October, and the entire elementary school was present to watch.
NED is an acronym, which stands for (N)ever give up; (E)ncourage others; and (D)o your best. This is the belief Townsend uses for its “Caught Being Good” program. It is something that can be reinforced at home, and is a theme children will relate to.
During the show, a presenter had an interactive video that teaches kindness, not passing judgement on others, and showed how there is a lack of clean drinking water in Kenya. Following the assembly, handmade jewelery made by Kenyan artists was on sale. The sale of that jewelery keeps the NED assembly free for the school, and a portion of each sale provides 100 gallons of clean water to Kenya’s kids.
The NED show has been at Townsend several times, each time with different themes and presentations. The assemblies are always popular among the students as they are actively engaged with the presentation.
