Middle/High School Academic Fair

Pictures from the Walton Central School Middle School/High School Academic Fair held on January 13th in the High School Gymnasium.

Walton Central School Board of Education members and Superintendent Austin attended the DCMO BOCES sponsored Legislative Breakfast on Saturday, January 23rd to meet with local legislators to discusss this year's issues facing school districts, express concerns and share ideas. Board members in attendance were Judy Breese, Board President, Harold "Butch" Neale, Carol Michalski and Jim Hoyt.

Keidy Martinez, Middle School Spanish teacher and Fun and Fitness program advisor, recently spoke to the Board of Education about the Fun and Fitness program.  The program encourages Middle School students to be active and make healthy food choices.  Shown in this picture along with advisors are some of the approximately 40 Middle Schoolers that participate in the afterschool program.  Ms. Martinez has recruited O'Neill High School students as assistant advisors.

December's Teacher of the Month is Christina Hewitt, Middle School Special Education Teacher. "Mrs. Hewitt shows day after day to be an essential member of our learning community in the Middle School.  She is very selfless in her work, always puts her students' needs ahead of her own and goes beyond her responsibilities to achieve student success."

The Teacher of the Month award is sponsored by the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company.
