January's Teacher of the Month is Barbara Geidel, Townsend School Librarian "Mrs. Geidel makes the library a magical place. She reads stories (in varied voices) to the younger students; teaches older students how to research, both in books and online; teaches them to use PowerPoints; cooks for tea parties, holds "Coffee Houses" for fifth graders where they recite poetry in front of their peers, and the audience snaps their fingers in response instead of applause. In short, she is an integral part of getting the students comfortable with reading, research, and computers."
The Teacher of the Month award is sponsored by the Liberty Mutual Insurance Company. |
