Sophos Antivirus Protects our District's Computers (and provides great Internet safety tips
We are very fortunate to be using Sophos Enterprise Security for the protection on all of our PC's (and even some of our iMacs). Besides a great antivirus program, Sophos provides us with browser protection from a great number of intruders, hijackers and the like.
Sophos is very good a keeping users up-to-date about the many threats out on the Internet and publishes a very newsy piece via email, facebook, twitter, linkedin or an rss feed called: Naked Security. Just Google "naked security sophos" then choose the format that suits your computing style best. You won't be sorry!
What to Do When Spam Email Seems to Be Getting the Best of You
Occassionally users in our district will receive "Spam" -- that email that nobody has requested or wants, but somehow seems to work its way around our security settings. Overall, our Postini Mail Security controls up to 98% of all unwanted email, with users receiving a brief "Quarantine Report" of possible spam emails that they might want delivered.
However, if you find that you are continually receiving unwanted or objectionable email, please contact Cindy Bakker at x6108. We'll adjust the Postini filters to eliminate the spam. If the problem persists, Cindy and Tim will tackle the source of the issue.
