Dear
Parent or Guardian,
At Townsend Elementary we use an attendance
system for bus riders to assure better safety procedures for all of our
students.
Townsend Elementary students who regularly ride the bus in the afternoon will
be listed on an attendance roster for each bus driver. This roster will also
serve as an important reference for a substitute driver.
Here are the guidlines:

If your child normally rides the bus in the afternoon,
he/she will be listed on the attendance sheet as a full-time rider.

If your child only occasionally
rides a bus, he/she will not be listed.
We will need a bus note before they are allowed to ride the bus.

If your child is going to an alternate location on a
different bus, a bus note is needed that provides us with a clear explanation
and includes accurate bus numbers and the name of the residence where they are
going.

If your child is NOT riding the bus for an afternoon, a
note needs to be sent to the office that day.
NOTE: Please remember, it is very important that
the childs first and last name, classroom teacher name and bus or bus numbers are on all bus notes. If there is any
question as to the correct bus number, please call the Townsend School or the
Bus Garage for clarification.
We
appreciate your cooperation and diligence in getting us the correct information
for your child's transportation plans so that we can be assured of safety for
all of our students. Notes should be brought to the office in the morning so
there is ample time for all parties to be properly notified.
