Adam Hoover named WCS football coach
Adam Hoover has been named the Walton Central School District football coach for the 2017 season.

Hoover was approved by the Walton CSD Board of Education Thursday night during the BOE's monthly meeting.

Hoover is the son of longtime Walton coach Jim Hoover, who announced his retirement after 41 seasons at the end of the 2016 season.
Jim Hoover to be inducted into Greater Binghamton Sports HOF
Jim Hoover, who retired from coaching football at Walton CSD after 41 seasons this past fall, will be inducted into the Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame on Monday, April 24.  
Changes to the Spring Sports season

Tournament raises $6,000 for scholarship
The fourth annual Roland A Beers Memorial Scholarship Tournament (Rollie’s Pick ‘n Roll) took place in early March at Walton CSD, raising $6,000.

The scholarship, to date, has awarded $11,900 to six Walton Central School District students since 2013. Roland “Rollie” Beers was a lifelong member of the community and a dedicated public servant. For 23 years, he was a police officer. After retirement, he served as the Walton Village justice from 1993-2008.
Two winter teams honored as scholar-athletes
Two of Walton’s winter sports teams were honored by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) as scholar-athlete teams.

The girls basketball team had the top average among the two teams, with a 95.5. Boys basketball had a 93 average.
