Walton Varsity Club members working at the Fly-In Breakfast Varsity club sponsors fly-in breakfast
In October, the Walton Central School Varsity Club hosted a fly-in/drive-in breakfast at White Birch Airport in Hancock. 
 
It’s the third year the club has sponsored the breakfast. 
 
Changes to the winter sport season schedule
Included in this article are changes to the athletic schedule for the winter season.   
Girls and boys varsity soccer players meet with employees of Kraft Heinz. Boys and girls soccer to team with Kraft Heinz for food drive
The Walton Central School varsity boys and girls soccer teams are pairing up with Kraft Heinz for a community service project to collect non-perishable food and personal hygiene items to donate to the Walton Food Bank.

Collection boxes will be at the girls varsity game vs. Laurens on Tuesday, October 3; and at the boys varsity game vs. Sidney on Friday, October 6.
 
Football players talk to a class during Crush Tackles Hunger
On Monday, five seniors on the Walton CSD football team visited Townsend Elementary to promote the annual Crush Tackles Hunger.

Each year during homecoming week, the football team collects non-perishable food to donate to the Walton Food Bank. This is a community service project the team does to give back to the community.
 
Group wrestling shot from Walton camp Walton wrestling camp ends after successful week
The Walton Warrior Booster Club wrestling camp, which was held in the middle school gym this week, was a huge success.

Eleven coaches and clinicians led the camp, which included 45 kids from around the state and Pennsylvania.
 
Walton CSD named School of Excellence by NYSPHSAA
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) announced its 2016-17 Scholar-Athlete School of Excellence winners, and the Walton Central School District was one of only six Section Four schools to earn the honor.

To become a School of Excellence, a district must have 75 percent of its varsity teams qualify for and receive the scholar-athlete team award. Walton’s teams had 91 percent of its varsity teams qualify for the team awards, which are handed out at the end of each respective season.
